Where little hands, big language, and meaningful traditions come together.
At Tig’s Table, cooking isn’t just about getting dinner on the table—it’s about gathering around it. This blog is dedicated to families who want to slow down, roll up their sleeves, and bring children into the heart of the kitchen.
My inspiration comes from my own family table. I grew up in a home filled with the aromas of garlic, lemon, olive oil, and oregano—classic scents from my Greek heritage. My grandparents, Greek immigrants, taught me that food is more than just nourishment; it’s a way to share history, language, love, and laughter. Passing this traditional along has been the cornerstone of our family.
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, I’ve spent years helping children develop communication skills that support confidence and connection. I created Tig’s Table to bring that same mission into the kitchen—where kids can build language naturally through hands-on experiences, rich conversations, and joyful collaboration.
Recipes will include language and activities that stretch thinking and spark curiosity. Whether your child is learning to describe textures and new vocabulary words, follow multi-step directions, or name ingredients from another culture, the kitchen offers endless opportunities to grow.
Whether you’re an experienced cook or just learning to sauté, I hope you and your children find joy in preparing food together, expanding your vocabulary, and building traditions of your own.
Let’s make something delicious—and meaningful—together.
